Q: Where does your passion for writing come from?
A: History leaves me spellbound; delving deep into the souls of ancient times, to desperately try to understand their lives, thoughts, actions, is truly challenging, but at the end of the day, there’s a greater sense of respect for life and a more intense, loving fear of God.

Q: Your work makes the reader feel like he’s/she’s been plopped down in the Dark Age. What does your research involve that would make your work come to such life and detail?
A:Books, books, books. And a darn good professor or two. Blood Raven’s Last Battle Prince became a work in progress for six years. While I was helping my husband restore our old brick acreage, which is our first home, I would steal away moments to study and write. Far from easy, sometimes my writing life had to be put on the backburner.

Q:What inspires the creation of your characters?
A: While you’ll find some writers draw their characters from those closest to their heart, I draw my characters from scratch. For me, it’s more challenging to do it this way. Though I love my family and friends dearly, I, by choice, respect their privacy enough not to wish them into my work. However, if I asked, I’m sure they’d be delighted; but, I’d rather not go there.
